Courseware
Courseware is the foundation of training, providing written materials that trainers can use to deliver training and student technicians can use as study guides. Producing these materials takes time and resources. Understanding this, the Center has developed a mechanism to share those materials to reduce the cost and burden of having each agency develop training materials from scratch.
Documented courseware offers several benefits. In addition to sharing, the fact that courseware exists means that it can be updated and passed down to other instructors over time. Courseware, whether hardcopy material, PowerPoint presentations, videos, DVDs, or other media forms can also be vetted to the National Training Standards to ensure that what’s being presented by instructors is consistent with learning objectives identified by both labor and management. Contact the Center for additional information regarding its Courseware Validation program.
